Well let's start with the good news and the discuss this week's picture shall we?
Losing the weight and more importantly changing body shape has so many benefits. I have said it before and others who have had success and achievement will tell you the same that the feel good factor and mobility is amazing.
Mentally you just feel so good. Don't take my word for it try it for yourself.
But another advantage is I can now squeeze myself into my son's cast offs. These are made up of the designer labels and this week I inherited half dozen tops and a couple of pairs of trainers! Although he's playing the 'you owe me I was going to sell them on E-bay' card I'm just elated that I can fit into them.
As well as this I have been on with my final part in my nutrition course and I urge again anybody to take a personal interest in the lifestyle and eating changes. It is so scary answering the questions about health and looking after yourself. The number of complications linked to not eating right or not taking adequate exercise is unbelievable. I find myself thinking 'yep that was me!' over and over and thinking I might hopefully have just got through any serious complications by the skin of my teeth.
I now know health doesn't improve itself and that you personally need to look after yourself and body. Heed the warning now folks don't wait until you are in your 50's like me and you'll thank me because contrary to what others might tell you about it been a boring life you will get so much more out of your life in the long run!
The changes don't have to be massive either in some people's cases and reading through my course some little personal challenges or setting targets is all it takes. Right I will stop preaching now I apologies.
Right so having said all that how am I doing this week! Well it seems the festive season and it's impact is unavoidable. I sat yesterday evening and had a long think about my goals and preparation for the Christmas period and made a decision rightly or wrongly.
My aim is to enjoy the period but with trade offs look to maintain my current weight and shape. I will monitor as normal and if I start to fail I will reduce further.
The intention at the start of the new year is to reboot and return right back to the initial 2 weeks of my course and be so strict. I'm hoping that this two week period will bring me back in line and start the year off as I mean to continue. By this time I will be getting towards the end of my 6 months with Chris and I am sure I can stand on my own two feet.
I also accessed my ultimate goal and where I want to be and what I want to then maintain. I need this so I can have a long goal but I still have the little ones in the background that keep me focused and provide the feel good factors.
Before I go let me tell you these goals don't have to be technical or massive and one such goal has also just been achieved. Once while out for the annual daily event that is the Rugby League Grand Final with my brother-in-law I purchase a tee shirt in a less than sober state! Only to find when I got home I had bought a size that wouldn't actually go near my body. To try defend myself I made the statement that one day I would be wearing it. Well yesterday I slipped it on....
Let's talk Christmas next week!!
