Week 17 - Happy New Year

Well I hope we all have a great 2018 and enjoyed the festive season I know I did.

I went into the holidays with my eyes open and ready to accept and enjoy the period which included eating and drinking far more than I would normally.

I was happy to not stick to any regime and fall into the swing of things and enjoy. This greatly helps with family and friends too as you are not the 'special' case who won't eat that or drink this.

So I am pretty pleased I have come through the period and only gained 3lb and my clothes all seem to fit.

During Christmas I have still found time to fit some sessions in at the gym although not as many as a normal week but at least it keeps you moving and prevents the rot completely setting in.

It seems rather strange that this year with everyone setting New Years Resolutions mine is to just continue where I left off. Good to see on social media however so many people looking to improve and set goals and this is where I started last year.

If I could give any advice (and I am no professional) I would say don't focus on just one thing. Don't get caught up in weight loss only and become a slave to the scales you will fail, look more towards how you feel about yourself and the rest follows.

Also I am converted to using a nutritionist. I used to think 'I don't need one I know best and what is right to eat' but I now realise it is a science and together with training the improvements are massive.

Never thought I would recommend one. Chris though has also given not only the individual support but built a community of like-minded people to help and support each other.

So what are my hopes and goals for this year?

I still need to improve my body shape and weight further and I have planned a Total Warrior in June 2018 with a team. It is only 12k and we are not taking ourselves seriously. we will start as a team and finish as a team!

This has prompted me to get running so my stamina and fitness comes a little better. I have embarked on the Couch to 5K (C25K) regime which is an app on the phone and gets you running from nothing to 5k in about 8 weeks.

Week one and two sessions in I am finding it good and is yet another recommendation. I will try update on here weekly of how I find it.

There is also a further programme taking you from 5k to 10k but lets not get a head of ourselves!

So I wish you all the luck with your goals this year and the most important person to make you succeed is yourself so get a grip get your menatlity right and push on
