Welcome to My Journey

For most of my adult life I have struggled to maintain a steady healthy weight. Now in my 50's I appreciate the need to maintain a healthy weight and eating regime. Easy to say but not always easy to practice.

I have always struggled with my weight after my teens and found I could no longer just eat whatever I liked.

About 5 years ago I joined a gym and started to look after myself more and had a lot of success in losing weight. However with various things and the usual excuses my weight increased again to over 105 kg at the end of 2016. Around this time I had a slight health scare which gave me a kick-start to do something about it. At this time I was prescribed medication for blood pressure and despite been told I would take this for life it is still my ambition to be told I no longer need to.

During 2017 I have gradually lost 10 kg up to August 2017 however the rate of success had slowed dramatically and I had the opportunity to engage a Nutritionist for a six month period to help.

I weighed in on September 4, 2017 at 96.2 kg

The concept of having a nutritionist is something we all thought to be not for the common man and the idea of working and keeping to an eating plan seemed to be beyond me.

Since starting I have discovered several things both good and bad and thought it may be a good idea to share my experiences over this period to hopefully help others in a similar situation.

I will talk about some of the foods and meals I eat but won't be disclosing my full diet or meal plan as this is a private issue between the nutritionist and myself and is a bespoke plan. That's not to say I won't post meal pictures and other elements of my journey.

Thanks! Message sent.
