Week Nine - Holidays and temptation!

Sorry I'm a little late this week I have been away on holiday for a few days. Choose to sneak off to Spain for a quick break while my son toured USA with school funded by the Bank of Mum & Dad!
First time on my journey I have been outside the usual comfort zone of my usual surroundings where eating healthy and training is far easier. However as I was only away for around 5 days I took the decision not to stick to my regime in any way. We were accompanied by friends and my intention was to have a break and fully enjoy it.
So not only did I manage to polish off excessive amounts of alcohol I also enjoyed so much food I wouldn't normally eat. This included fish & chips, ginger sponge & custard and other foods very similar. Do I regret it? Not for a minute!
Going away for a short period did help my cause and I fully expected to gain some weight over the last week and I did. But now knowing what I have learnt this past few months meant I am confident that not only will I lose the weight gained but I also knew exactly how to get back on point and pick up where I left off.
In the past, and I still see others doing it now, I would have had a break then 'slowly' tried to get back into it. The usual excuses and statements like.
I've had a week off but I think I might not bother with the gym for another week. Just to get fully rested'
or
'I'm not going to start eating healthy just yet I've got used to eating bigger portions and enjoying a drink'
or
'I can carry on not thinking about eating healthy just yet the weight I have gained will naturally drop off now I am home.
or
'I am out of the habit of training I might try something new but I will have a rest before I start ther's no rush'
Well as soon as I woke up the morning of my return home I was straight back to it. I really enjoyed the break and it has probably set my goal back a week or so but so what?
Whilst been enjoyable it also highlights to me one massive point and that is it is clear that by changing my lifestyle I have changed my life. Eating far better equals a far better weight and body appearance which is incentive to carry on.
What better example do you need to see results and affects than to see it in your own body!
So I guess you want to know how much I actually gained. Approx. 2Kg is the answer when it all balanced out however it has started to reduce already. Of course I wanted to report that it had no impact and I didn't gain any weight whatsoever but lets not kid ourselves.
I have returned so much more determined now and keen to push myself even further. Ironically Chris issued a further tracker to complete weekly to highlight any deficiencies or where improvement could be made. Surprisingly I failed to fill it in last week lol
So why share this blog? It's against the ideals that I set out to do isn't it?
Well I don't believe it is. It demonstrates we are all human and I will share my great weeks but I will also be totally honest when the wheels wobble a little that is what it's all about to me.
Onward and upwards to another week where normality can return.
