Week Five - Exercise

Firstly I have been pleasantly shocked by the comments I have had this week. Having remained the same and not losing any weight and get comments makes you feel so good. These have come from all different sources including the gym, work and family. So people if you see someone else on a similar journey making progress tell them about it. I certainly gives inspiration to keep going.

So as you can gather I didn't reduced my weight this week but just maintained the same average, I did however lose another inch from my stomach. I don't really care about the scales too much it is how I look and feel that matters and I feel great!

I am obviously trying to keep to my eating regime as strictly as possible but with my 56th birthday this week I did relax slightly allowing myself a drink and chocolate but then it is back to normality the following day.

Also this week I attended the Rugby League Grand Final and probably the first time I have ever been sober! I resisted one invite from friends who get into Manchester around 9am for the 6pm kick off! I choose a more sensible option and went across in the afternoon. This decision is not just diet based - I'm getting too old for all that malarkey lol (No comments Patrick if you're reading this) I still managed beer and a big fat burger

I thought this week I would share my training schedule from the first four weeks although this is pretty much what I have been doing when possible for most of the year now. I have noticed that when I get here to do a weights session in the gym this seems to coincide with my better weight loss weeks.

Coincidence? Hope my son tempts me to go more in the actual gym rather than classes. I do think I need to do both and add a little shock into my routing rather than just the same old.

Be good to hear from others on their thoughts and training regimes and how they believe it impacts on them.

Given I have had both a birthday and also a social event this last week I am still pleased that I have managed to squeeze in my training and also keep pretty much on track. Trying to make healthy eating a way of life my main objective and I feel I am now making great headway in this direction.

I'm sure we all have the doubters and the friends who say 'why you doing that life is for living' or 'I don't care what I eat and drink I'm not boring' or 'Diet? I'm not going to give up drinking, eating fast food, eating sweet foods etc.'

To them I say - well I'm just changing what I eat eat day-to-day, I certainly don't intend to stop living or drinking or eating foods I like but maybe if I'd done this earlier in life I would have been in a far better position now.

See you all next week
