Monday
Big day it's reporting time and completion of my documents for weekly assessment with Chris (Nutritionist) Happy to see an overall weight loss of 1.8 kg for the week and even more happy to see an inch has disappeared from my stomach!
Second week of the strict written diet sheet and today is one of those large food volume days.
But getting into the swing of preparation I am good to go in the morning as I sorted myself out the night before.
The food volumes are still an issue but it is improving and I am coping.
Cardio insanity training tonight and I felt energised and good. Sometimes my diet calls for a larger than normal snack in the afternoon and this seemed last week to give me a full feeling during training. I am sure this is something I can 'tweak' going forward.
Tuesday
A lighter food intake during the day than Monday or so it feels to me but with the larger snack before the gym I still felt slightly bloated during circuit class but not as much as the first week. Am I saying it gets easier? Maybe let;s see.
The gym went well and after a large evening meal and training I am ready for my bed after a couple of hours relaxing.
Wednesday
Good nights sleep and I never thought I would awake with a smile on my face just because it's my favourite breakfast today. Oat breakfast smoothie time haha.
I don't train on Wednesdays so it was just a question of getting through my meals. Lunch is listed as leftovers from the previous evening as I make two portions. Great idea for a couple of times a week as it makes life easier.
I did struggle with m evening meal and this could be due to having a 'lazy' day tied to the office desk. I decided I need to try get out for a walk at least over lunchtime. Watch this space.
Thursday
Large food portions again planned for today and whilst I have seen the scales over the week dropping in my favour I found today difficult with the amounts and just maybe a little hard work mentally .
Another large snack before the gym and I paid the price. Too full during circuits and felt I under performed. It is early days and I want to get through the initial 2-3 weeks and then start fine tuning to suit my own needs. This sort of thing shouldn't get you down when starting out it can be overcome and Chris is always on hand to discuss these refinements.
Friday
Hectic day in the office planned and a lunchtime coffee with friends meant that today was not the best day. However these are the days I need to teach myself to manage.
Lunch was the usual veg and carb intake and with one thing and another I ended up eating lunch in two halves. This was far from ideal as I didn't finish it and felt I had really failed on my veg intake!
The day was no better fro my evening meal as this has no veg included (maybe I should have added some) and whilst it is a good option Friday evening I felt full from the disjointed eating patterns through the day.
All in all not a good day but I am sure there will be more to come and I will learn how to manage them better with additional knowledge as I progress.
Saturday
Usual early start to get to the gym for 8.45am which means an early breakfast (switched with Sunday again) and after a 2 hour gym class I felt refreshed.
I did notice that near the end of the boot camp class which is after an hour of pump I still had some energy. Flipping those punchbags maybe this was a turning point?
Reasonable light lunch and a steady afternoon.
Meal of my choice for the evening so after dropping my wife off at a social event it was just me and my son. We chose sausages and chips!
The sausage are from a local farm shop and these are far superior to the mass produced ones. Hardly any fat come out of them (you won't get a BBQ inferno with these) and they taste so much better.
Chips I always use the Actifry which uses a minimal amount of oil but taste just as good.
I am also allowed a 'treat' but given I know had to drop off my son at the pub and due to pick both up later (dad's taxi) meant no alcohol tonight for me. So as I didn't want any form of pudding at the moment I decided to give the treat a skip this week. No point in just having it because you can in my mind. I am sure there will be times when I crave both but tonight was not one of them.
On my own for a few hours what did I do? I launched this blog. Living the life Saturday night!
Sunday
I don't often train Sunday these days but it suited this week that I got myself in the gym with my son's guidance. I get bored in the gym and prefer classes but I know I need to do some work on this so it was good to have an hour.
Breakfast this morning included eggs and I prefer to poach mine. Man alone in the kitchen turned into a disaster and we are now one poaching pan short! Still got my eggs out in time though.
Same mistake at lunch as last week eating too late in the day but not as bad. Need to try keep a structure to my weekend days which includes water intake. This is difficult for me on a weekend and I need to put more effort into it.
Had a long chat with Chris regarding progress, how I am finding it how I am feeling etc. which is an excellent part of the whole process and we discussed going forward answering queries I had and even discussed this blog.
Evening meal tonight was easy as the previous week I made two portions and froze it so it was half prepared.
Week two complete and overall easier than the first week finding my feet but I do think I still need to look forward more in preparation and also get my mind set 100% as I could easily have drifted off at the end of the working week. If anybody does just take a look at the results you've achieved in less than 14 days that's your inspiration surely.
